This webinar demonstrates how Flownex can be used to model and analyze supercritical CO₂ power cycles in both steady-state and transient conditions. The presentation showcases cycle optimization using parametric studies, allowing engineers to identify optimal component designs such as recuperator sizing while balancing heat transfer and pressure losses. It also highlights transient analysis capabilities by simulating events such as turbine trips, enabling engineers to evaluate shaft dynamics, temperature excursions, and off-design operating conditions. A more advanced example couples a supercritical CO₂ cycle with a nuclear reactor and steam cycle to investigate accident scenarios such as a loss-of-coolant event, including reactor neutronics, decay heat, and control system responses. Overall, the webinar demonstrates Flownex’s strength in modelling integrated thermal-fluid systems, performing optimization studies, and analyzing complex transient interactions across multiple coupled cycles.
