This webinar introduces new Flownex functionality developed specifically for modelling gas turbine lubrication systems by enabling the simulation of liquid-gas mixtures and two-phase flow behavior. The presentation explains the addition of a new liquid-gas fluid model, along with Beggs & Brill and Chisholm pressure drop correlations, which improve the accuracy of predicting flow behavior in lubrication and scavenge lines. Using practical examples, the presenter demonstrates how lubrication systems, bearing chambers, secondary air systems, scavenge pumps, vents, and reservoirs can be modelled and integrated into a single simulation environment. The webinar also shows how lubrication models can be linked directly to secondary air system models, allowing pressure, temperature, and mass flow information to be exchanged automatically between the two networks. Overall, the new capabilities help engineers size pipelines, vents, and pumps, evaluate steady-state and transient operating conditions, and optimize gas turbine lubrication system designs with fast simulation times.
