This webinar explores how Flownex can be used to model and analyze hydrogen electrolysis systems, which are becoming increasingly important as industries seek cleaner energy solutions and reduced carbon emissions. The presenter explains the principles of water electrolysis, compares different electrolyzer technologies, and focuses on an alkaline electrolysis system as a practical example. A detailed Flownex model was developed to simulate the plant, including fluid mixtures, chemical reactions, pumps, heat exchangers, controllers, and the electrolyzer stack itself. A transient startup simulation demonstrated how the software can track power consumption, temperature, concentration, and control system performance to ensure safe and efficient operation. The webinar concludes that Flownex is a powerful tool for designing, optimizing, and evaluating electrolysis plants, helping engineers improve performance while reducing development time and cost.
