Question
Flownex provides several methods for specifying initial values for a steady-state solution, including Initial Temperature/Pressure values, Node Guess Values, and initialization from a Snap. When multiple initialization methods are used simultaneously, which values take precedence and in what order are they applied?
Answer
When multiple initialization methods are specified, Flownex applies them according to a defined hierarchy. The initial solution estimate starts with the Initial Temperature and Pressure values. If Node Guess Values are specified, these take precedence over the Initial Temperature and Pressure values. Finally, if Initialize from Snap is enabled, the values stored in the selected Snap take precedence over both the Initial Temperature/Pressure values and the Node Guess Values.
The hierarchy is therefore:
Initial Temperature/Pressure → Node Guess Values → Snap Values
As a result, Snap values have the highest priority, Guess Values have the second-highest priority, and the Initial Temperature/Pressure values are only used when neither Guess Values nor Snap initialization override them.
