Question
Does Flownex support a redundant or failover license server configuration? If so, how are the main server, failover server, and client computers configured to ensure that licenses remain available if the primary license server becomes unavailable?
Answer
Yes, Flownex supports the use of a failover license server to improve license availability. The license server software must be installed on both the main license server and the failover license server. A HostID file must be generated for each server and provided to the licensing team so that the appropriate license files can be created.
The main license server is configured using the standard license server installation procedure. The failover server requires a dedicated failover license in addition to all of the license files that are present on the main server. These license files must be placed in the appropriate license folder on the failover server. If all licenses from the main server are not present on the failover server, the failover functionality will not operate correctly. The failover license contains a reference to the primary server, including its hostname and port, which can be modified if required.
