How can a user create a custom pure fluid in Flownex? Specifically, what steps are required to add a new fluid, define its properties, and assign it to a network for use in a simulation?
Flownex allows users to create custom pure fluids that can represent either liquids or gases with a fixed composition. To create a new pure fluid, the user first opens the Charts and Lookup Tables library and expands the Flow Solver → Materials and Fluids section in the Project Database. A new category can then be created under Pure Fluids, after which a new pure fluid can be added and renamed. The fluid properties are configured through the fluid editor, where users can define whether the fluid is compressible or incompressible, specify properties such as molar mass and critical pressure, and define density, viscosity, conductivity, and thermodynamic properties. These properties can be defined using constant values, lookup tables, equations, or custom scripts depending on the required level of accuracy. Once the fluid properties have been configured and saved, the custom fluid can be assigned directly to a network and used in simulations.
