This video introduces the expanded nuclear simulation capabilities in Flownex 2025 R 3, highlighting the addition of a new Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) component and enhanced Pebble Bed Reactor (PBR) functionality. The PWR component includes dedicated geometry and point kinetics charts, enabling users to define fuel assemblies, cladding, control rods, and moderator effects while accurately accounting for water-density reactivity feedback during transient simulations. The release also simplifies pebble bed reactor modelling through a new reactor-specific input interface and a dedicated point kinetics chart that replaces older text-file-based neutronics inputs. Both reactor components automatically generate networks to model pressure drop, heat transfer, and power generation, providing detailed thermal-hydraulic and neutronic analysis capabilities. These enhancements reduce model setup effort and allow engineers to focus more on reactor design, operational studies, and transient analysis.
