This video demonstrates how to perform co-simulation between Flownex and Simulink using a supplied S-function block and the Flownex Memory Map Link. The example uses a simple pipe model where Simulink continuously adjusts the upstream pressure boundary condition while Flownex calculates and returns the resulting mass flow rate. Communication between the two programs is achieved through a shared memory map file, with users defining which variables are exchanged as inputs and outputs. During the simulation, Simulink generates a varying pressure signal, Flownex solves the hydraulic response, and the calculated mass flow is displayed in Simulink in real time. The integration enables powerful control system development and testing by allowing virtually any Flownex input or output to be exchanged dynamically with Simulink throughout a simulation.
