This video introduces the upgraded Electrical Library in Flownex 2025, now powered by a SPICE-based solver that enables the simulation of DC electrical circuits alongside thermal-fluid systems within a single model. Using a PEM electrolyzer as an example, the demonstration shows how fluid flow, electrical current, heat generation, and electrochemical reactions can be modelled together to capture the complex interactions between these domains. The fluid network simulates the flow of water and the production of hydrogen and oxygen gases, while the electrical network uses voltage sources, current sources, resistors, and polarization curves to represent cell behavior and electrical losses. By iterating between the flow and electrical solvers, Flownex accurately predicts how variables such as current, voltage, electrolyte resistance, gas production rates, and temperature influence one another. This enhanced co-simulation capability allows engineers to perform integrated multiphysics analyses of electrochemical and energy systems with greater accuracy and efficiency.
