This error involves a continuity discrepancy on nodes connected to two-phase tanks with steady-state quality boundary conditions. The error occurs because the steady-state quality boundary condition is incorrectly reassigned to the tank during transients, causing continuity equation issues. This was first seen in the 2023 Release (8.15.0) and fixed in 2025 Release 3. A workaround is to use a regular boundary condition and manually remove the fixed condition at transient start.
ERROR INFORMATION
Bugzilla Error Number | BUG 4766 |
Description of Error | Results Report: Continuity discrepancy on nodes connected to Two-Phase Tanks with associated steady-state quality boundary condition. |
Comments | The steady-state quality boundary condition used on two-phase tanks and connected to a scripting output erroneously gets re-assigned to the tank during the transient. Eventually this leads to discrepancies in the continuity equation of nodes adjacent to the two-phase tank. |
First Incorrect Version | 2023 Release (8.15.0) | Corrected Version | 2025 Release 3 |
Workaround Description: The problem can be circumvented by changing to a regular boundary condition and manually removing the fixed condition (or via action) when the transient starts. |
