Bug 4557 involved spurious and overstated first order convection heat transfer results in the non-iterative transient solver due to incorrect reporting at flow nodes. This was fixed in version 8.15.0.5062. There is no workaround, but the issue only affected user interface reporting, not solver accuracy.
ERROR INFORMATION
Bugzilla Error Number | BUG 4557 |
Description of Error | Elements adjacent to first order convection heat transfer elements show spurious heat transfer results and first order convection heat transfer is over reported when using the non-iterative transient solver. |
Comments | The first order convective heat transfer mechanism is associated with flow nodes as apposed to the flow element. Since implementation of the first order convection option, the node heat transfer was reported on all element connected to a given node, even if that element does not have a convection heat transfer mechanism associated with it. This has been corrected. In addition, when invoking the non-iterative transient solver the convection heat transfer was not correctly reinitialized, and the heat transfer value was overstated. This has been corrected. |
First Incorrect Version | 8.14.0.4844 | Corrected Version | 8.15.0.5062 |
Workaround Description: There is no known workaround. The incorrect convective heat transfer was a user interface reporting issue only, the correct values were used in the solver and thus do not impact any of the remaining solver results. |
